Baltic, European Inland and the rest of the world
Any time of the year!
Well, coming from the Med myself and blessed with 250+ days of sunshine and a coastline of 13.000 km (let’s see if your geography lessons can pay off), when I came to Germany I took it for granted that I need to quit sailing. Much to my surprise though, I figured out that here the rivers are deep enough to sail cargo ships, the lakes are long and wide enough to run regattas and the Baltic Sea can be a challenge for any sailor!
Putting things in perspective when it comes to Germany
you can choose to rent bareboat or crewed anything from a houseboat to a catamaran, sailing boat or motorboat! Most boats are available for rentals from April to November but for most people, the edges of the season are maybe far too cold to enjoy the waters although most yachts are equipped with heating which makes it comfortable inside.
So, what to do if you are in Germany from November to April and you just want to feel the water, get some sunshine and a bit of a tan maybe? Fly out! With amazing connections to almost anywhere in the world from Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin, Dusseldorf etc, it’s almost impossible that you cannot find a low-cost direct flight to somewhere warmer and a last minute offer for a yacht to jump on!
So, here you are! Germany is there for you even when it comes to sailing winter or summer, one way or another! Welcome, and enjoy! If you need more information about sailing in Germany or help to organize your sailing vacation you can contact us
